Established in 2001, the .NAME universal top-level extension is the only one meant for personal sites only. These domains can be personal or fictional names, nicknames and/or other labels people are known by. At first, solely third-level registrations were allowed, so if you desired to register john.doe.name, you had to do that under .doe.name. In 2004, however, the registration process was loosened and 2nd-level registrations were also permitted. Already acquired third-level names remained active.

Through our company, you can purchase your .NAME domain for a period between 1 and 10 years. You will have the opportunity to change the WHOIS contact info, to park your domain, to modify Custom DNS records, etc. You can also move over an active domain to our company if you acquire its EPP transfer authorization code from the current domain registrar and we will renew it after the transfer has been done. There are no special stipulations on who can secure a dot NAME domain name, but in order to preserve the concept behind its establishment alive, the dot NAME Registry organization may check who the owner is and if there is no connection between the owner and the actual domain, the registration can be challenged.

The dot NAME top-level extension is amongst the extensions that support internationalized domains, so we can also register a domain in any language at no extra cost. In this way, your .NAME domain will be recognized in your country or area with the proper spelling in your native language.
