Alternative PHP Cache, or APC, is a module for Apache servers which is used to cache the output code of script apps. It is very useful for scripts with large source code and will speed up such a website up to 3 times. PHP sites are dynamic and every time a visitor accesses some page, the script connects to a database to get some content, and then the code is parsed and compiled before it is displayed to the guest. In case the output code does not change however, that's the case with sites that display the same content all the time, such actions trigger needless reading and writing. What APC does is that it caches the already compiled program code and delivers it any time visitors browse an Internet site, so the database doesn't need to be accessed and the code does not need to be parsed and compiled over and over again, that in turn decreases the site loading time. The module can be extremely effective for informational sites, blogs, portfolios, and so on.

APC (PHP Opcode Cache) in Shared Hosting

You will be able to use APC for your web apps with any of the shared hosting packages that we offer as it is pre-installed on our cloud web hosting platform. Activating it will take only a single click inside the Hepsia Control Panel which comes with our shared solutions and a few minutes later it'll start caching the program code of your apps. Our platform is very flexible, so you will be able to use several configurations based on the system requirements of the scripts. For instance, you'll be able to activate APC for a couple of versions of PHP for the entire account and set the version that each website can use, or you can have the same version of PHP, but activate or deactivate APC only for specified Internet sites. You can do this by putting a php.ini file with a line of program code inside the domain or subdomain folder where you require the custom configuration.

APC (PHP Opcode Cache) in Semi-dedicated Servers

You will be able to use APC for each and every script application which is run on your new semi-dedicated server since the module is pre-installed on the cloud hosting platform where the account will be created. Activating or deactivating APC for the entire account requires a click from the Hepsia Control Panel, but if necessary, you can use the module only for particular websites. This is possible as a result of the versatility of our cloud platform - several releases of PHP run on it concurrently, so with a php.ini file placed in a site folder, you will be able to select what version will be used for this particular site and whether APC should be enabled or disabled. Employing such a file enables you to use settings that are different from the ones for the account, so you will be able to take advantage of APC for many scripts where the module makes a difference and not for others where you could use some other kind of web accelerator.
